Lyn Matthew
Lyn was born and raised in Southern California. Her first love has always been drawing, painting and teaching. She painted her first store window with Christmas murals in high school and it was about that time she began to teach sewing to 10-12 year old girls through the 4-H Club program. Lyn taught in the public school system for five years and since that time has continued to teach in the college system. She created a class called Art Marketing, teaching the business aspects of art to students in the Community College System more than two decades ago and continues to teach that class and offer guidance to those wishing to make a living from making art. Lyn also offers workshops for therapists aspiring to set up their own business. Her background includes experience as an art editor for a magazine, art publicist, sales and marketing director for several hotels and leadership in professional and community organization. Lyn also teaches ongoing private and group classes in sketching and painting. She paints weekly in her Flagstaff studio. View her artwork at lynmatthew.com

RESUME
I have alway had an interest in the healing arts and the power of positive suggestion. I have worked with children and adults most of my life in classroom situations. I feel every teacher is a healer and through the teaching and coaching experience and interaction lives can be changed. My mission in life is about healing the wounds, walking, with my clients, through the pain and tears to find a gateway to balance and happiness. The first energy work that I learned and practiced was Reiki, powerful modality for personal use and for the healing of others. While practicing this energy modality, I started healing circles and worked with people through ceremony, conversation and creation of art. When i went back to school full time I decided to learn Zen Shiatsu. I was hooked on Chinese Medical Theory. It made sense to me. It fit with the tai chi and qi gung I was doing do build up my energy. I took every class in my modality three times in order to learn the meridian pathways and how to balance them to create health and well being for my clients. I began to work with clients in private practice and became certified in other modalities which I also use in my practice: Jin Shin Jyutsu, TuiNa and learned Anma and Chi Gung TuiNa as well a Zen Shiatsu advanced practices. I have a passion for the healing arts and for teaching.
